Grab your tennis shoes or your hiking boots and get outside to enjoy the beautiful AZ weather. Sedona is the day hike capital of Arizona and gives you lots of opportunities to stretch your legs and take in the sun and amazing scenery. With over 120 hiking trails to choose from ranging from easy to very difficult there is a trail for you no matter your skill level.  Every trail is different and offers a different experience. With the beautiful views and the serene atmosphere, there is no better way to spend a morning, afternoon or full day in Sedona.

Some of the most popular hiking areas are Bel Rock, Boynton Canyon, Doe Mountain, West Fork of Oak Creek Cathedral Butte, Bear Mountain and Devil’s Bridge. Don’t fool yourself, there are many others too! Most of the trails are located within the Coconino National Forest.

Before you hit the trail, be sure to take safety into consideration. Pack water and snacks for everyone. The trails can be longer than you expect and it can get warm. Lastly, take a look at a trail map. It is essential that you know your skill level and choose a trail that works for everyone. Review the trail map and be familiar with where you are going. If you plan on heading out in one of the popular hiking areas, you should see people on the trails but don’t always count on that. If you choose to venture in a more quiet and peaceful area away from the crowds, take precautions and let our front desk know where you are going, what trail you are taking and when you expect to return. Safety is always the top priority.
